ez-breathe dry basement system

introduction

SMELLS + ODERS + MOISTER = PROBLEMS

Remove mold and moisture from your Chicago home

It is common for mold to grow in a home. Mold growth is more rapid in areas with high levels of moisture. High indoor humidity, water leaks, flooding and condensation are all situations that increase the growth of mold.

Some common places within a home for mold to grow include:

  • Basements: Moisture seepage causes mold on walls, floors, carpeting and other materials that are stored in the basement.
  • Crawlspaces: Cross ventilation of humid air through a cooler space or complete lack of ventilation can cause condensation. Dirt floors allow moisture and unwanted gas to enter the building envelope.
  • Bathrooms: Moisture causes mold on shower walls, ceramic tiles, and fiberglass. The proper use of exhaust fans can help with bathroom mold growth.
  • Laundry Rooms: Damp towels, wet clothing and drying clothes without a vent can cause mold growth.
  • Kitchens: Boiling water often using no exhaust fan can cause mold to grow. Mold is also common in automatic defrosting refrigerator pans.
  • Closets: Storing damp or dirty clothing can cause mold growth.
  • Behind Furniture: Lack of ventilation, darkness, warmth and dampness can cause mold growth.

how e-z breathe helps

every breath you take

Finally, the relief you’ve been searching for. The E·Z Breathe ventilation system removes harmful contaminants that cause odors and replaces the home with fresh, odor-free air. You will notice a big difference immediately!

Odors and smells within a home not only cause discomfort but can also be the result of bigger problems such as excessive moisture in the air and mold. Mold in a home can cause headaches, nasal irritation, dizziness, fatigue and nausea. The main culprit of lingering, unpleasant odors in a home is the lack of proper ventilation and poor air quality.

common contaminants that affect the quality of indoor air

Allergens are natural particles such as dust mites, pet dander, and pollen, which irritate, inflame and promote respiratory illness. Airborne bacteria and viruses can lead to a wide range of ailments and infections, and thrive in damp, stale environments. Without ventilation, these bacteria continue to breed. Toxic chemicals are the condensation and buildup of vapors from common household products such as paint, pesticides, cleaners, solvents, adhesives and aerosols that can be highly toxic if not properly ventilated from the home. Mold is a fungus, which needs moisture to exist, that gradually destroys the things it grows on. Spores released by mold are highly toxic and can cause serious – and even terminal – health complications. Moisture is the number-one problem in air quality control. Uncontrolled moisture promotes mold growth, feeds thriving bacteria and causes structural damage to the home.

how ez-breathe work

The EZ Breathe ventilation system establishes the proper amount of airflow in your home/building making the air cleaner and healthier to breathe. Studies report that the “average home’s foundation absorbs 10-15 gallons of water vapor from through the walls and floor every day”. As a result the damp polluted air settles and builds up in the lowest part of your home/building. With the installation of an EZ Breathe unit this bad air is completely expelled from your home/building never allowing for unhealthy damaging build up. The EZ Breathe unit removes that stale, damp, contaminated air at its source. By eliminating the pollutants at the lowest level, EZ Breathe creates air exchange for a healthier home. The direct effect of the air being expelled and the flow of healthier air downwards creates an air exchange in the house/building approximately six to ten times that of the average home/building! This helps decrease mildew and molds by not allowing the moist air to stagnate and condense on cool surfaces and improves the overall quality of the indoor air. Gases pollutants that have built up in the home/building are also expelled and replaced with fresh air from the upstairs.

Better known as as ERV

Energy Recovery Ventilation

Fresh air + Energy recovery, reducing running cost of cooling or heating system

Energy recovery ventilation (ERV) is the energy recovery process of exchanging the energy contained in normally exhausted building or space air and using it to treat (precondition) the incoming outdoor ventilation air in residential and commercial HVAC systems. During the warmer seasons, the system pre-cools and dehumidifies while humidifying and pre-heating in the cooler seasons. The benefit of using energy recovery is the ability to meet the ASHRAE ventilation & energy standards, while improving indoor air quality and reducing total HVAC equipment capacity.

Tamarack Whole House Ventilation Unit

Whole House Fan

Health concerns
A tightly constructed home traps toxic air which can lead to serious health issues.  A whole house fan moves unhealthy air out of the house.

Cost
A whole house fan can run 24/7 for pennies.

Refreshed air vs. re-circulated air
A house needs to breathe. A whole house fan allows it to do so; an air conditioner doesn’t.

Allergies
Many people who have allergies can’t tolerate an air-conditioned environment.

Aesthetics
A whole house fan sits unseen in an attic or utility closet.

Noise
Our modern whole house fans do their work quietly and efficiently.

Natural temperature relief
Alternative cooling brings in outside air to cool your home without the negative effects of air conditioning.

Mini Split System

What is a Ductless System?

Ductless systems have a split design without a complicated amount of ducts. Unlike central air conditioners these systems are duct-free. These split systems (also called mini-splits or duct-free systems) usually have one outdoor unit (the condenser) and at least one indoor unit (the evaporator) inside of your home.

Ductless systems (both indoor and outdoor units) are connected with copper insulated refrigerant lines that pump cooled or heated refrigerant directly from the indoor units to the outdoor units and back again.

The flexibility of a multi-zone ductless mini split system is one of its greatest strengths. You can use one of these systems to cool and heat two rooms, three rooms, or every room. Maybe you want to condition the upstairs bedrooms separately from the downstairs. Or the west wing vs. the east wing. How about the garage and the master bedroom? There aren’t many applications that can’t be conditioned just the way you want it with a multi

zone ductless mini split!

Single zones vs. Multi-zones

A single room ductless system is where there is only one indoor unit to the outdoor unit whereas multi-room ductless systems have two to four indoor units to each outdoor one. Each of these can be set to their own temperature and work separately from the rest.

The best way to cool and heat a space is to get an indoor unit for each room to keep the temperature at pristine comfort conditions. The main thing to look for is to make sure the BTUs are enough to cover all of the square footage.

Schulter Bathroom System
